Lau Pa Sat Food Stalls, Singapore

  • "Very Good"
Lau Pa Sat is located in the Central business district in the historic former Telok Ayer Market, which was commissioned by Singapore’s founder Sir Stamford Raffles to be “the emporium of the the east” in 1822 and listed as a national monument in 1973. It caters to a mix of office workers and tourists who throng the food court daily in the thousands (literally) and there is a huge variety of food on offer, a mix of local hawker fare and regional Asian food. Don't be put off by its "City" location or its size. While it doesn’t have the same prestige of hawkers versus its nearby Maxwell Road neighbour, it does have a few unusual cuisine offerings which can't be found in most Singapore food centres like Costa Rican, Filipino, regional Indian and Vietnamese food. We love it!
