Wengen

Wengen is one of the major village resorts in the wildly photogenic Jungfrau Region, along with Grindelwald and Murren.  At the heart of the resort, the Kleine Scheidegg offers long blue runs in the shadow of the Eiger North Face, along with views of the glittering Jungfrau Glacier towering over the sunny plateau.

There’s plenty to challenge advanced skiers, notably the Lauberhorn ski race run or the Inferno on the other side of the valley. Whilst there are plentiful beginner slopes across the resorts, the blue runs are better suited to confident intermediates rather than complete novices.

Wengen has preserved its Alpine charm but if you are looking for some après-ski, Grindelwald has more of a buzz due to the presence of the young seasonal ski staff letting their hair down.
