Savvy UK holiday makers are turning away from Teletext Holidays, and teletext has slashed pay-per-click advertising spend by 20% as the economic downturn hits online holiday searches.
The company insisted the decision was a deliberate ploy to focus on “quality traffic” to its site and said it was continuing to plough money into expansion in niche markets such as cruise and ski.

Jet2.com is to base an additional Boeing 757 at Manchester Airport to help fill the gap left by the demise of XL holidays and flights group.

The Bolton-based firm used the trading names Flight & Holidays Master, Flight Master Golf.com, Key to the Canaries & Suntastic.co.uk
The company had non-licensable non-package business which was not protected with ABTA.
Flight Masters also had licensable turnover and any ATOL claims will be handled by the Civil Aviation Authority.
Any retail claims arising from the failure will be handled by ABTA’s claims handling partner CEGA.
