Brits will become more discerning about where they take their holidays and how often they go abroad as a result of the credit crunch, one expert has said.
Lateholidays.com claimed that due to rising prices and a decrease in UK holiday makers disposable income, booking holidays in advance is in decline.
Terry Davies, Lakeholiday expert at Lateholidays.com, said that people are already changing their habits with late holidays becoming more popular.
“Where UK holidaymakers might have taken a 2 week holiday and a maybe a week somewhere and that would have been it -
What our customers are now doing is maybe take a couple of weeks away and then a late booking short break as well.”
A recent Lateholidays survey found that 43 per cent of Brits plan to book holidays later looking for the best deals rather than book in advance as in previous years.
